Mutilate The Things In Your Heart That Separate You From God
It is not enough to listen to a sermon and not "search the Scriptures" for yourself. The women from my life group touched on this very point this past Friday. It is so easy as a Christian to watch a sermon and feel like you've got your "fill" of the Word of God. Watching a sermon should be a supplement (an addition to) not a substitute for your time with the LORD.
It is so easy to listen to a sermon after the speaker has put in all the work of praying and seeking God for a Rhema Word, not to mention the attacks that came to prevent it from going out. But what God wants to speak to you about that Word may be very different. You just will never know if you are not reading it for yourself..
We need to get right with God and stop playing church. We are only fooling ourselves in believing that kind of behavior is acceptable.
Powerful truth and takeaway from this preaching, and trust me there was much, much more:
"You don't deal aggressively with your sin because you have been deceived by grace."
Do not trample on the grace of Almighty God. You will not come out on the winning end! We need to reverence God for WHO HE IS!
"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
