When I Am Afraid

"But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.  I praise God for what He has promised.  I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?  What can mere mortals do to me?"  Psalm 56:3-4

LORD, it does not matter what circumstances we face in this life.  My trust is solely in who You are and what the truth of Your Word says.  We could be facing our biggest fears: financial, marital, sickness, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, etc. but You are there in our midst when we call upon You and quiet our [anxiousness] by Your love.  You said in Your Word that You shall supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  That is what we stand upon.  We hold You to Your Word because You said that Your Word will never return to You void but will accomplish what You desire, and Your Word says that Your plans are to prosper us not to harm us.  You said if we call on You and pray that You would listen and if we seek You with all our hearts, we will find You.  You are the stronghold of our lives, our protector then of whom shall we be afraid?

LORD, we surrender our hearts to You.  We confess our need for You.  We bless You that You do not treat us as our sins deserve but You lavish us with Your love, Your grace and Your mercies that are new every morning.  We bless You Father for Your faithfulness.  We give You the praise, honor, glory and power that is due to You and You alone.  In Jesus' name we pray.  Amen.
